Governor Rick Perry's letter to Gail about the upcoming trip to Spain

On March 11 a team of six will embark for the nation of Spain. This incredible invitation involves the McWilliams sharing their story. The McWilliams Family has gained the attention of people around the globe as they share their message of valuing life and hope. With this in mind the trip to Spain is strategic.

Already there are eighteen speaking engagements established, concentrated in Madrid and Barcelona and their neighboring vicinities. Below is more information about this wide spread outreach. Tony and Gail McWilliams are seasoned leaders, have pastored for 13 years in the Midwest, hosted a weekly television show, and speak throughout the United States and now internationally. They have been adjunct instructors for ten years at Christ For The Nations Institute on the subjects of: Marriage and Family, Godly Parenting, Leadership, Ethics and Character Development.

Tony McWilliams is known for his teaching skills and principled living. His first book is to be released in 2010. Gail McWilliams is a speaker in demand since her first book was published four years ago. The book is entitled, "Seeing Beyond" with foreword by Zig Ziglar. Her second book was released last year called, "Engaging The Heart" with challenges about heart issues and a practical tool for winning the hearts of others - especially in the family.

Gail McWilliams loves to encourage others and often is introduced as a "motivational/inspirational" speaker. This works well because she speaks for various organizations including churches, women's conferences (both Christian and secular), corporate settings, universities and banquets. Tony and Gail do marriage seminars along with extensive television and radio interviews. Their books and McFamily story on DVD are available in Spanish.

MORE ABOUT THE MCWILLIAMS
The McWilliams have five children the doctors said they would never have. In the course of having children Gail lost her eyesight gradually with each baby. Gail McWilliams' story is one filled with hope and vision. Gail states, "Though my eyesight is impaired, I am a Woman of Vision! When you have vision you can see even in the darkest places of life. Life is the gift." The McWilliams family demonstrates destiny and potential.

THE TEAM
Tony and Gail McWilliams along with their two youngest children: Lydia, 16, and Connor, 13 will be telling their story about valuing life while exemplifying the love of the Savior. Raquel Martinez will be their interpreter. She is from Spain and has translated both of Gail McWilliams' books into Spanish. Raquel is the Assistant Director for International Affairs and Immigration at Christ For The Nations Institute.

Michael Mascherini will be the assistant and international driver for the team. He is a former student of the McWilliams and currently works at Christ For The Nations in the computer department. He is experienced in traveling in Europe and has dual citizenship from the United States and Italy.

THE OBJECTIVES
Our objectives are to impact Spain with the love of Christ and a vision for life through speaking engagements, meetings and books. The scheduling includes governmental leaders, spiritual leaders, newspaper articles, encouraging believers and pastors, challenging the mind set and hearts of those who are discouraged, financially oppressed and choosing to terminate their next generation. Business meetings and family seminars are planned for the secular audiences with strategic seminars to encourage, motivate, and share the gospel.

FUNDING NEEDED
Approximately $3,500 per team member will be needed to cover round trip airfares, other travel expenses (vehicle rental, fuel and regional flights), lodging, and meals. Some provision of lodging and meals will be made available to us from local believers in their homes. In addition, we intend to bring books into the country for distribution into the culture. The printing cost would be approximately $7,000.

RESOURCES DISTRIBUTED
The ministry efforts planned in Spain are significant. The life message God has worked in the McWilliams' lives contains valuable influence, but also Gail's two books, Seeing Beyond and Engaging the Heart, will be important seeds sown into the culture of Spain. The message of these books is vital because they not only exalt the Lord, but they deliver a message that is essential for Christian families and leaders. Our efforts are to team with those who already have a voice for the cause of Christ in the nation.

TRAVEL DATES
March 11-April 3

PRAYER NEEDS
More than anything the ministry team wants to be effective. Protection and health is needed for the team as well as discernment for any spiritual warfare, and strength for the grueling schedule.

The six airplane tickets have been purchased. And the Spanish version of the books will need to be printed soon. And, of course, all the funding for the three week outreach should be in place by March 1st. The team also anticipates other surprise opportunities developing including the desire to be able to meet with key governmental leaders.
